Indy Music WITT 91.9 Live Session of the Week

The "Indyrok Media Live Session of the Week" is featured on the Indy Music Program with Noel Hopkins and airs each week on Wednesday from 5:30pm - 6:30pm on WITT 91.9 Zionsville, IN, USA.  We choose a track from our live recording archives and share information on the artists and where it was recorded.  This program also showcases the best music from central Indiana- tune in and find out the most up to date releases available!

February 8, 2012 Belligerent Bendjaos This week's track is from the Indianapolis Punk scene and was recorded at the Vollrath in September, 2011.  Listen to it and download the free track here

It is a historic track in 2 ways- this was the second to last Belligerent Bendjaos show before they disbanded to work on other projects, and was one of the final shows at the historic Vollrath, where John Dillinger was known to enjoy a drink from time to time.  The Bendjaos were voted the Best Punk Reunion Act at The Melody Inn in 2011

December 23, 2011 Maple Trio This week's show featured "We Three Kings / Christmastime" provided as "Stocking Stuffers" during their recent Redbud Tree House Concert.  Listen to it and download the free track here

December 11, 2011 Kate Lamont.  This week's track "Suspended" is an original song by Kate and was recorded as part of the award winning IndyFringe 2008 show "Moved -the process of an artist" by The (Re)Collective Company which was formed by visionary and choreographer Jaclyn Virgin. Musicians Helger Oomkes, Grover Parido, TJ Reynolds and Tim Williams played live on stage while the interpretive dance took place.  Listen and download the free track here

December 4, 2011 Evan Slusher.  This week's track "Moving Mountains" comes from Noblesville resident Evan Slusher.  Listen to it and download the free track here

Evan Slusher was only 17 when this was recorded at the Riverfront Stage in Indianapolis August 10 when he opened up for Cara Jean Wahlers and Grover Parido. "Moving Mountains" is an original song that is heartfelt and shows a wisdom beyond his years. Evan also has a song featured on the "Paradise Recovered" soundtrack "The Best Thing" which has won numerous awards on the Indie Film circuit, and is available on iTunes and Amazon. He graduated from Noblesville High School and is studying at the University of Indianapolis. November 27, 2011 Michael Kelsey. This week's track "Sarah" comes from Indianapolis resident Michael Kelsey and features Tim Williams on percussion. Listen to it and download the free track here

It was recorded live at the Monon Food Company in Broad Ripple as part of the Music at the Monon Series. Enjoy the dynamics from this track off Michael's CD "Falling Into Place". Michael has released 6 Cds and is a master guitarist, amazing interactive performer and has incredible production and recording skills- he is the total musical package. He performs solo and with a full band setup depending on the day you catch him. He is an Indiana gem that should not be missed! November 20, 2011 Cara Jean Wahlers and Grover Parido "California" from the Goodnight Charlotte CD.  Listen to it and download the free track here

Cara Jean is a singer / songwriter based in Indianapolis, and Grover Parido is an amazing cellist who pushes the boundaries of his instrument. This track was recorded live by Indyrok Media August 8, 2010 at the Goodnight Charlotte CD release concert with opening bands Evan Slusher and Tonos Triad. The venue was the Riverfront Stage at the Indianapolis Arts Center in Broad Ripple with the majestic White River flowing by in view behind the stage. If you listen closely you can hear the twilight sounds of Indiana in the background. There were moths flying around like natural special effects in the stage lights, like an "Indiana Summer Snowglobe" as they described it at the show.  Preview the Goodnight Charlotte tracks and buy the CD here

November 13, 2011 Indyrok Media and Music Benefit's Indiana State Fair Stage Collapse Project download.  Featured tracks "High Sun" from Bil Whitefeather and "In the Pines" from Kate Lamont. 

Dubbed a "Super Album" by Noel Hopkins at Indy Music, the project contains 48 tracks contributed by the original artists and bands to raise funds for the Indiana State Fair Relief Fund in conjunction with the Central Indiana Community Foundation.  Noel interviews Indyrok Media CEO Murphy Mahaffey and discusses the contributors to the project and the goals of Indyrok Media.
